ENCOURAGING SAFETY

As part of the safety project organized by SOCAR and Safety Hub Plus, students of the European School received first aid training.

The students gained both theoretical knowledge and practical experience, which will help them act quickly and confidently in emergency situations.

Graduating class students were awarded certificates, and the school received a first aid kit as a gift.

On 28 November, as part of the safety initiative implemented by SOCAR and Safety Hub Plus, a comprehensive first aid training session was conducted for students of the Georgian-American High School.

The training equipped students with both theoretical and hands-on skills, enhancing their ability to react promptly and effectively in critical situations.

Graduating students received official certificates of completion, while the school was presented with a first aid kit as a token of support.

Since 2023, SOCAR Georgia Petroleum has been organizing first aid training sessions in schools. The goal of the training is to raise awareness about the importance of first aid and to increase access to information among school students, ultimately helping save more lives in crisis situations. As part of the training, students receive certificates, and schools are provided with first aid kits.

Within the framework of this project, SOCAR Georgia Petroleum has also prepared first aid educational video lessons to promote the topic and make the information more accessible. The video lessons are divided into four episodes and fully cover the essential knowledge needed for basic first aid. These videos are available on SOCAR Georgia Petroleum’s digital platforms, including its YouTube channel.

To date, first aid training sessions have been held at Ecole Saint-Exupéry School, Tbilisi International School, Millennium School, Anie-Zet - Robert Schuman European School, Jejili School, and Buckswood School. In the future, it is planned to conduct first aid trainings in many schools.

In 2023, SOCAR initiated an awareness campaign to promote a safer atmosphere on the roads and encourage the public to respect traffic regulations, making it easier for everyone to travel safely.

Over the years, SOCAR has developed a variety of imaginative road safety advertisements. These featured awareness-raising videos, posters, and other activities on issues such as giving way to pedestrians at crosswalks, crossing roads only in specified areas, giving way to other drivers and emergency vehicles, speed limit protection, and more.

To address the issue of homeless animals on the streets, SOCAR and Animal Project collaborated to build wooden shelters for stray animals at dozens of stations, as well as completed sterilization and rabies vaccinations.

Additional information boards were also installed at SOCAR gas stations. The problem can be overcome with the correct strategy and coordinated efforts from the state, private sector, and society.
